About Me
I believe mothers need to be cared for, too.
I'm Sonja, a mother, doula, somatic practitioner and someone who has always been deeply interested in the relationship between the body, emotions and the way we experience motherhood.
My own journey into this work began with a love for mothers and babies, but over time I came to understand something even more deeply:
When we care for the mother, we care for the whole family.
Motherhood can bring immense love, but it can also bring exhaustion, overwhelm, identity shifts, loneliness and a body that suddenly feels different.
And sometimes, what a mother needs most isn't another piece of advice.
She needs someone to sit beside her.
Someone who listens without judgement.
Someone who can hold space while she finds her way back to herself.
This is what I want Mammaleeyah to be.
A soft place to land.
My background
I hold a Master's degree in Early Childhood and am a trained birth and postpartum doula. My work is also deeply influenced by attachment theory, nervous-system regulation and somatic approaches.
I have completed one year of training in Core Evolution (a relational, body-oriented, and mindfulness-centered psychotherapy and personal development system that integrates body awareness with psychological healing), and am continuing my professional education in Core Soma (a specialized, non-verbal somatic practice and touch training program within the Core Evolution framework that integrates body-oriented psychotherapy, subtle energy fields, and therapeutic touch), deepening my understanding of how our experiences live not only in our thoughts, but also in our bodies.
My background in education, doula work and somatic practice comes together in the way I support mothers: with warmth, curiosity, respect and without trying to tell you how you should be doing motherhood.
A little about my approach
I don't believe there is one right way to be a mother.
I believe in slowing down enough to hear yourself.
I believe that your body carries wisdom.
I believe that connection matters more than perfection.
And I believe that mothers deserve support not only when they are struggling, but simply because they are carrying so much.
Whether you are newly postpartum, finding your way through a new chapter of motherhood, or simply longing for a little more space to breathe and reconnect with yourself, you are welcome here.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't have to be doing it perfectly.
You can simply arrive as you are.
Welcome to Mammaleeyah.
A softer place to land.

Support for parents
I support parents in a gentle, grounded way that honors their unique journey. I create space to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and meet what is present, emotionally, physically, and energetically.
Parenthood can bring both deep love and deep overwhelm. My intention is to help parents move through these experiences with more presence, clarity, and self-compassion, so they feel more resourced within themselves and connected to their children.
